The mission of the Council is to develop and monitor the implementa琀椀on of a plan to promote
equal opportuni琀椀es for people with disabili琀椀es to live, learn, work and par琀椀cipate in the most
integrated se琀�ng in the community of their choice through West Virginia’s compliance with
Title II of the Americans with Disabili琀椀es Act (ADA).Olmstead Coordinator covers those
individuals who are ins琀椀tu琀椀onalized or at-risk of being ins琀椀tu琀椀onalized in a segregated and/or
congregated se琀�ng.

The WVABLE Savings Program
A tax advantaged savings and investment program designed speci昀椀cally for individuals with a
disability that allows them and their families to save above the $2,000 asset limit without
jeopardizing eligibility for cri琀椀cal public bene昀椀t programs including Supplemental Security
Income (SSI), Medicaid, SNAP and HUD. Funds in a WVABLE account can be spent at any 琀椀me to
pay for a wide variety of quali昀椀ed disability related expenses.

WVU Center For Excellence in Disabili琀椀es
As businesses and organiza琀椀ons seek quality workers, they con琀椀nue to 昀椀nd that hiring and

talent, and skill while showing a commitment to all West Virginians who wish to be part of the
workplace environment.
WVU CED Employment Services connects job-seeking clients with disabili琀椀es to the businesses
that hire them in order to 昀椀nd the perfect match. We work one-on-one with individuals to help
them prepare for employment and 昀椀nd the right job. Employment Services also strives to refer
great candidates to employers and ofer technical assistance on disability-related labor issues.
